What is Montessori
What Is Montessori?
Montessori is an education philosophy and practice that fosters rigorous, self-motivated growth for children and adolescents in all areas of their development, with a goal of nurturing each child’s natural desire for knowledge, understanding, and respect.
Montessori Education is a method of instruction developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1897. Dr. Montessori was the first female physician in Italy and dedicated her life to discovering how children learn. She took a scientific approach to educating children -she observed, created, tested and revised based on her observations. Today, over a century later, psychological research is showing Dr. Montessori was way ahead of her time.
