At this tender age, children have a great motivation to explore their environment through their senses. In this safe, clean and gentle infant daycare environment, babies will be nurtured, provided with opportunities to grasp, reach, climb, and cruise, exercising both their fine and gross motor skills. They will learn the beginnings of language through modeling by teachers of object naming, being spoken to, and through song. In this multi-age setting, they will learn the beginnings of socialization with other children, be treated with love, respect and much affection.

The children in this stage are sensorial explorers facing the important developmental challenges inherent in balancing separation and attachment, autonomy and the beginnings of independence. Dr. Montessori observed that from birth, childrens’ minds absorb impressions from the environment; these impressions become a part of their deepest self. Through thoughtful planning and design, Monarch Montessori provides indoor and outdoor environments that are both physically and emotionally safe and which invite and support this type of exploration.

The Kindergarten Enrichment class offers children ages 5 and 6 years old a prepared environment where they can collaborate, meet with success and develop together. Students are introduced to a mission-based, self-directed learning environment that encourages confidence and inner motivation. Our goal is for our students to acquire a love of learning and to grow into confident and accomplished individuals. Monarch Montessori Kindergarten’s enrichment program provides a variety of activities, including art and music, science investigations and information literacy, through which children learn to be thinkers, inquirers, participators and responsible decision makers. Monarch Montessori School is a safe and nurturing environment where your children receive an exceptional education in basic academics and social skills.

If a child is a Primary student of at least 5 years of age, they may be eligible for Elementary Enrichment. The Primary Teacher, along with the Director, will determine the readiness of a child to begin Elementary Enrichment midyear at or about 5 years of age. Children who are enrolled in Primary, and are 5 to 6 years old, are encouraged to continue their educational process by participating in Elementary Enrichment activities.

We offer an extended care program for children who are attending regularly scheduled classes. (7:00 am-8:30 am or 3:30-6:00 pm). In emergencies, late pickup care can be arranged ahead of time from 6:00-6:30 at an additional charge.

Children enjoy activities such as arts and crafts, nature, science, cooking and organized games or sports. Activities are organized around different themes each week. The Summer Program is offered for 8 weeks in the summer, with a required minimum of three weeks of enrollment. Parents must commit to the specific weeks in advance in order for our school to meet staffing needs.
